Ray Bradbury, Rest in Peace

Ray Douglas Bradbury (August 22, 1920 – June 5, 2012)

Sad News, Ray Bradbury — author of The Martian Chronicles, Fahrenheit 451, Something Wicked This Way Comes, and many more literary classics — died this morning in Los Angeles, at the age of 91.

Bradbury was one of my favorite authors growing after reading Fahrenheit 451. The novel has been the subject of various interpretations, primarily focusing on the historical role of book burning in suppressing dissenting ideas. Bradbury has stated that the novel is not about censorship, but a story about how television destroys interest in reading literature, which leads to a perception of knowledge as being composed of factoids, partial information devoid of context.
BTW the book’s name comes from the temperature that paper burns
